Position Highlights

The Clinical Research Assistant (CRA) will provide dedicated research support for clinical trials focused on complex respiratory illness (e.g., allergy, asthma, COPD, and cystic fibrosis). The CRA will conduct all manner of assessments related to research in the Asthma and Airway Disease Research Center (A2DRC), including pulmonary function testing and collection/processing of samples. This position is responsible for adhering to all regulatory matters associated with the conduct of clinical trials.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Support all day-to-day activities involved with research protocols: prepare and ship laboratory specimens; assist with recruitment, scheduling and consenting research participants; assist CRC leads with data collection and data entry (adhering to proper protocols); prepare study materials for each study protocol; etc.
• Under direction of the study lead and/or Manager perform study related procedures(e.g.) Administration of questionnaires and conducting pulmonary function testing. 
• Assist lead coordinators in contacting the investigational pharmacy to order and collect the appropriate study pharmaceuticals, as needed. Maintain drug accountability and destruction logs, as required. Access Banner EMR, as needed to confirm inclusion/exclusion of research participants and to log AE's/SAE's.
• Assist the regulartory team with monitoring visits: Prepare monitoring room, prior to monitoring visits, with study materials, escort monitor to other areas, provide requested documents to monitor throughout the visit.
• Under direction of the Lead CRC, maintain study binders and assist with any related audits.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
• Five (5) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience in Human Subject Research.
• Direct experience with Venipuncture and Phlebotomy.
• Direct experience with providing excellent customer service.
• Direct experience with Clinical Trial Research.
• Certifications in clinical practice.
• Higher Education with an emphasis on Clinical Research.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.
