Job Description

The Accounts Payable Clerk performs accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.

Duties:

• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
• Process 3 way - P.O., receivers, matching invoices
• Prioritize invoices according to discount potential and payment terms.
• Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks, and distribute checks accordingly.
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
• Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies.
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with the company policy and accepted accounting practices.

Qualifications:

• Proficient using the 10-key.
• Excel and Outlook programs; Stratton Warren and Infinium systems experience - a plus but not required.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timelines.
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable, and the ability to maintain confidentiality of accounts.
• Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.
• High School diploma required.
